Three initiatives to improve your organisation’s data analysis.

Analytical Volunteer Programme

The Analytical Volunteer Programme is a Government Statistical Service initiative placing government analytical staff in voluntary organisations for up to five days. It is open to any voluntary organisation on an annual basis and matches analysts to volunteers based on skills required.

This allows organisations to gain analytical expertise, use data to measure and improve your impact, and improve your systems and processes. This support is free.

Statisticians for Society

Statisticians for Society is a pro bono service created by the Royal Statistical Society. Statisticians for Society is a pilot funded by the Big Lottery which offers statistical support to the third sector and actively matches organisations with RSS fellows at no cost. Their statisticians will support organisations to collect, analyse and visualise data.

Secondment of Civil Service Fast Stream statisticians

Charity Next is an initiative to improve cross sector understanding through secondments. Established by The Prince's Charities Foundation, it is now run by The Whitehall & Industry Group.

They arrange six-month secondments for Civil Service Fast Streamers into registered charities, not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises to give individuals experience and ownership in a number of areas such as communications, finance and project delivery.

This offers the opportunity for statisticians to spend six months in the voluntary sector to contribute their analytical skills and enthusiasm, in order to facilitate an exchange of expertise, build greater mutual understanding and encourage closer working.

Salaries are funded by government departments. A brokerage fee of £2000 plus VAT is payable upon successful placements.
