Salah Mohamed is currently the Chief Executive of the Welsh Refugee Council. His background was in the civil service in Sudan where he held the post of Deputy First Undersecretary for the Ministry of Finance in Sudan.

He has an in-depth working knowledge of managing support services through various roles within the Welsh Refugee Council since 1998. He has a thorough understanding of refugee issues in Wales and across the UK and a strong commitment to promoting refugee rights, which he has carried out in his different roles as chair and trustee of Sudan Organisation Against Torture, Sudanese Community Association in Wales, co-founder of Displaced People In Action and as one of the founding members of Sudanese Community Organisation.

He has extensive experience within the Welsh voluntary sector as a board member of Voluntary Action Cardiff, United Nations Association Wales and the WCVA, Race Equality First and British Refugee Council. In addition he has a long history as a human rights activist in Sudan and the UK
