Owen Williams is Director for Wales Council of the Blind, the independent umbrella organisation for vision impairment in Wales.
WCB works in two complementary ways to promote and provide a
voice for people with sight loss. Firstly we work
strategically on influencing policy and service planning. Secondly,
we work with service providers both statutory and third sector to
improve the scope and standards of service
Within his previous role he undertook technical assessments of
people with sight loss for the
Access to Work scheme and Disability Student Allowance. Owen
also teaches a specialist module, 'Low Vision Aids in the
21st Century', for WOPEC.
