Revd Gethin Rhys was appointed National Assembly Policy Officer for Cytûn (Churches Together in Wales) in January 2015, and has been Lead Representative for the Religion sector on the TSPC since that date.
Gethin was brought up in Rhiwbina, Cardiff, and educated at
Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen, Pontypridd and the Universities of Oxford
(degrees in Politics) and Birmingham (Theology). He is a minister
of the United Reformed Church, and has served churches in Wrexham,
Brecon, Trefforest, Porth and Penrhys. He and his wife, Dr Fiona
Liddell, were Joint Wardens of Coleg Trefeca 1996-2003 and Gethin
was Assistant General Secretary of Cytûn from 2003-5.
Gethin is pleased to combine in his current role his background
in both Politics and Theology. He produces regular Policy Bulletins
reporting on policy developments in Wales from a non-partisan

wrote the chapter on Wales inBelonging to Britain: Christian
Perspectives on a Plural Society (Council of Churches for Britain
and Ireland, 1991) and is a regular contributor to the Christian
