Energy and Water Efficiency
Resource Efficient Wales provides a bilingual
helpline giving tailored information to help groups and
householders save energy and water. It also advises on reducing
waste or disposing of it more efficiently. Calls are charged at
local rate, even from a mobile phone and you may request a
call-back which will be done within 2 working days. The helpline
0300 123 2020 is open 9am - 5pm.
Energy Savings Trust offers 14 energy-efficiency Quick Wins as well as more detailed advice
around energy efficiency and smarter travel. It also offers a
dedicated advice page about grants and support for
areas including wall and loft insulation, replacing your central
heating and renewable energy technologies.
Waterwise provides water saving
tips and an overview of some simple changes you can make to save
water and reduce leaks at home, at work and in the garden.
Dwr Cymru also offer businesses
water-saving tips and a
Water Efficiency Audit.
They estimate that most small businesses (or organisations) can
typically achieve a 20 - 50% decrease in the amount of water they
use. Using less water saves money on both water supply and
wastewater disposal - and saves energy used in collecting, cleaning
and supplying the water in the first place.
If you want to adopt a Water Efficiency Plan and
get your staff or management team on board then WRAP's Ripple
Effect provides advice for every stage of the process from
getting management support to staff buy-in, developing the business
case and action plan to sharing success with stakeholders. Guidance
is provided through downloadable information sheets, videos, good
practice guides, case studies and other online tools.
