Teigan is just like any other teenager. She enjoys music and watching the latest craze on TV. However, she has also shown through her volunteering efforts, that she has much more to give!
Teigan has an interest in becoming a Primary School
teacher when she leaves school, and has been volunteering in a
local primary school since she was 13 years old, in order to gain
Timperley from Ysgol Cystennin, Mochdre stated, 'Teigan is very
enthusiastic and offers great support to the younger children.
Volunteering with younger children enables Teigan to demonstrate
her communication skills, her flexible nature and the opportunity
to use her own initiative. It is always a pleasure to see and work
in turn states, 'I started volunteering when I was 13. Now that I'm
14 almost 15, I have carried out a lot more volunteering. I started
volunteering at my old primary school by helping out with little
jobs and helping the children, I still help out at my primary
school and also help out at my mum's work CVSC. I'm part of the
Youth Panel at CVSC, where I have helped with tasks in the office,
along with helping at the volunteering awards
Pugh, Youth Volunteer Development Officer stated, 'Teigan has
really got involved well with the Youth Panel and is a great asset.
I have seen a huge improvement in Teigan's
was a great help at our Volunteering Celebratory Event, where she
supported two of her Panel members, signing in guests and showing
them to their tables.' During the celebratory event, the Youth
Panel were awarded a Volunteers' Week Certificate for their
part of the Cash4Youth Panel, the young volunteer members make
decisions as to who receives a share of the grant. Teigan asks lots
of questions to make sure she makes the right decision. She has
also got involved with the new North Wales Modern Day Slavery
group, putting together a film to make other young people aware of
Modern Day Slavery and how it is currently happening in this area.
At a recent discussion meeting, Teigan put some ideas together,
which impressed the producer of the film.
all of her volunteering, Teigan has also been working hard in
school ready to sit her GCSE's ensuring she chooses the right
topics to enable her to fulfil her wish to teach. She now feels she
has become more confident since she commenced volunteering, as she
has met so many new people who are interested in the same things
that she is interested in.
