Aims
This course will help those working in third sector organisations to develop a planned approach to influencing opinion formers, policy makers and government.
Content
This course will provide:
  • an introduction to the role of the National Assembly for Wales and the Welsh Government and how they operate
  • an introduction to how policy decisions are made and the role of influencing in reaching policy decisions
  • a practical guide to developing an influencing plan including mapping out your political stakeholders and identifying the right influencing tools and techniques
Learning outcomes
  • Understand the role of the National Assembly for Wales and the Welsh Government and how they operate
  • Understand the role of influencing in how policy decisions are made
  • Understand who their political stakeholders are and how to influence them
  • Develop an influencing plan, setting aims and objectives and identifying appropriate influencing tools and techniques
