An introduction to social media course handouts from course delivered by Esther Barrett (JISC) and Mark Stillman (Vale of Glamorgan CVS).

Social Media is here to stay - your organisation needs you!

Whether we like it or not social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc) plays a huge part in the world we live in today.  As an organisation if you are not tweeting, updating your Facebook or uploading YouTube videos to your website you are missing out on vast amounts of publicity.  Adding social media to your organisation's profile could also help it survive.

Whether your voluntary group sells services or items to purchase it will benefit immensely by having a presence on social media.  You may not like to receive news via Facebook or Twitter but there are literally millions of people that do. If you or your organisation recognises the importance of social media but are reluctant to use it then VCVS' "An Introduction to Social Media (absolute beginners guide)" is a must for you.
