Week is the annual event that showcases the fantastic work
that trustees do for their charities, communities and the sector.
Events all around the country will celebrate the achievements of
trustees, as well as highlight opportunities for you to get
involved with a local charity or voluntary organisation at board
Since Trustees Week 2018 is also Safeguarding Awareness Week in
Wales, WCVA will be holding a range of activities on topics such as
creating a positive organisational culture, encouraging diversity
and the importance of safeguarding.
Positive boards: your role in creating a healthy
organisational culture - 14 November in Cardiff
The relationships between trustees and senior staff are key to
creating the kind of positive, healthy and safe culture that will
help your organisation to thrive. With presentations from The
Association of Chairs and the Association of Chief Executives of
Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO), this event will look at how to
establish and maintain positive relationships and build a safe
organisational culture. The event will include a workshop on
working well together as a team.
Topical issues in safeguarding - 15 November in Cardiff
and 21 November in Rhyl
This free event to mark Safeguarding Awareness Week 2018 is an
opportunity for third sector organisations to hear from experts in
cultural competence and exploitation. You will learn how to
strengthen your safeguarding practices by becoming a more
culturally competent organisation and about the third sector's role
in spotting and reporting modern slavery, as well as how to keep
your own supply chains free of these practices.
