webinars from May 2017 focussing on data protection.

What is GDPR?
GDPR is a 21st century approach to data protection, it aims to
provide more protection for individuals and therefore more privacy
obligations for organisations. Help protect privacy and avoid
potential fines by signing up to our webinars and keeping your

22 August 2017 - Privacy Notices and Consent
Being transparent and providing accessible information to
individuals about how you will use their personal data is a key
element of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the EU General Data
Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The oral or written statement that individuals are given when
information is collected is often called a 'privacy notice'
however, sometimes it may be called 'fair processing notice' or
'how we use your information'.
Where you need consent from an individual in order to process
their personal data, you need to explain what you are asking them
to agree to and why. This will often go hand in hand with providing
