Sustainable CommunityThe Welsh Government is set to announce a significant new funding stream to enhance Wales' natural resources and well-being.

The scheme will be administered and managed by the Environment and Communities Division on behalf of wider policy interests and will focus on supporting cross-sector collaborative projects that will  achieve a broad range of environmental, economic, social and cultural benefits.

Supporting the delivery of Prosperity for All: the national strategy and the Natural Resources Policy, the scheme has 3 themes of action under which grant applications can be made:

  • Developing, regenerating and broadening access to sustainable green infrastructure;
  • Improving the quality of the urban and rural built environment; and
  • Developing resilient ecological networks, areas and nature based solutions.

The scheme is expected to open in September 2018, inviting strategic projects that can deliver at local, regional or national level with funding being made available for up to 3 years.

Interested organisations from all sectors are encouraged to explore potential project ideas and collaborations via an online platform. Further information about the scheme, including guidance and application forms, will be available from this site in the coming weeks.
