National Occupational StandardsNational Occupational Standards outline the competences and skill areas that may be required of those who work with volunteers, and were last revised in 2008.  Our training courses, such as the volunteer management module of the Courses for Communities programme, are mapped to these standards.

IIV logo 200x150The Investing in Volunteers Standard provides a benchmark of good practice which focuses on the organisation, rather than specifically on the volunteer manager.  The Standard can be a useful guide, whether or not the organisation chooses to work towards achieving the Investing in Volunteers accreditation. It can be downloaded free of charge.

Our suite of information sheets on volunteering topics and selection of model policies and templates will help you to develop your own policies and procedures for the effective  involvement of volunteers.  If you can't find what you need then get in touch with us via the WCVA Helpline  0800 2888 329.info symbol

Our resources page includes material developed through funded projects on green volunteering, and on volunteers with extra support needs, and other resources to download.

The Volunteering Wales Network is open to all who work with volunteers and are interested in issues of volunteering policy and practice of national significance.  You are welcome to attend meetings or simply to receive information by email.  Other sources of support for volunteer managers are also suggested under Networks, Forums and Support.

As well as our regular volunteering news service, you will find on these pages, articles on volunteering 'good practice' and 'hot topics'.
