The Welsh Assembly Government’s Voluntary Sector Scheme makes provision for twice yearly meetings between representatives of the third sector and each of the Cabinet Ministers.  The current Minister for Rural Affairs is Elin Jones AM.

The meetings take place in the summer and winter of each year.  Either side can put items on the agenda provided that they fall within the ministerial brief and that they address broad third sector issues.

A third sector rural affairs forum meets to discuss issues and to plan for each of the ministerial meetings.  The forum is made up of representatives from national networks and relevant local networks: membership is agreed by the Voluntary Sector Partnership Council.
