Giving Wales

Providing a tax-effective giving service for the third sector

Giving Wales is a project, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and run by WCVA in conjunction with the Institute of Fundraising, promoting tax-effective giving. The aim of the project is to increase the value of donations through endorsing tax-effective giving mechanisms such as Gift Aid, payroll giving, legacies and share giving; enabling the voluntary sector in Wales to increase its unrestricted income.

Payroll Giving Scheme

Payroll giving enables employees to give to charity through their employer’s payroll before tax is deducted. WCVA operates a payroll giving scheme in conjunction with Charitable Giving. For more information on the Charitable Giving scheme see www.charitablegiving.co.uk.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a simple scheme allowing you to increase the value of donations to your charity by at no extra cost to you or your donor.

Legacy, shares, business and other giving

Tax-effective giving enables charities and/ or donors to reclaim tax on their gifts to charity.

The less it costs to give; the more people are likely to give.
