The free scheme allows employees do give regular tax effective donations to any charity of their choice through their organisation's payroll.

Payroll Giving is an HM Customs & Revenue (previously Inland Revenue) scheme that enables employees to donate tax effective gifts through their pay to any charity in the
Payroll Giving is rapidly increasing as it is such a convenient way of supporting charity and there are now nearly 10,000 employers participating. In 2000-2001, £37 million was given through this scheme and last year the figure rose to £95 million.
The scheme is simple, efficient and flexible, which allows you to donate to any charity of your choice by a direct deduction from your wage. All donations given in this way are tax effective so the charity receives your donation and the tax you would have paid on this amount.
For a higher rate taxpayer, Payroll Giving is more efficient than Gift Aided donations as the charity automatically receives all of the tax on your charitable donation.

Payroll Giving Quality Mark
The Payroll Giving Quality Mark is an annual programme that recognises and rewards organisations for making Payroll Giving available to their staff.
The scheme provides employers with a certificate and a Bronze, Silver and Gold Award for signing up to Payroll Giving and to reward the employer for its employee participation in the scheme.
