Communities
This section tells you about WCVA's support to community organisations, our policy work on community regeneration and our involvement in Communities First.
Participation Cymru builds the skills and capacity of managers and deliverers of public services (public, third and private sectors) to achieve better public engagement in the design of citizen-centred services for the people of Wales.
A substantial programme of training has been arranged across Wales aimed specifically at Communities First staff and partnership members.
Covering the key issues affecting the Communities First areas such as Child Poverty, the Outcomes Fund and Programme Bending, the programme seeks to work together with the advice and support and information teams to assist staff and partnerships in delivery of services.
Ever had a good idea to make your community a better place? The Communities First Trust Fund has been set up to provide quick and easy access to money to support any type of activity that involves local people, through small community organisations, taking steps to improve their local area.
Communities First advice and support is delivered by WCVA and is a resource for CF Partnerships seeking support on any issue.
The service is available from Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm and can be contacted through the Communities First Helpline on 0800 587 8898 or help@wcva.org.uk.
