WCVA is proud to sponsor the Social Enterprise Start-Up of the Year award at the Wales Start-Up Awards, open to social enterprises in Wales who started trading on or after 1 May 2014.

The Wales Start-Up Awards were launched to recognise the achievements of the entrepreneurial individuals who have spotted the opportunity and taken the risks to launch a new product or service, and who are often the unsung heroes of the business community.

Different to many others awards in Wales, the Wales Start-Up Awards will get away from the usual black tie approach to business awards and will be held in an informal setting at the award-winning Depot in Cardiff, an entrepreneurial start-up business where street food and craft beer from Welsh enterprise will be served to those attending.

To be eligible to enter, businesses must have started trading on or after the 1st May 2014, be based in Wales and be independently owned. Applications are made via the website at http://www.walesstartupawards.com/ and it is free to enter.

There are 15 Categories for entry that cover all sectors of business for Start-Ups. Each company shortlisted will automatically be placed in a regional category, so there is a chance of winning in your area as well!

The deadline for entering is 30 June 2017. The shortlist will be decided and then the judging interviews will take place the week of 10 July.

Winners are announced at the ceremony, which takes place 15 September at The Depot, Cardiff.
