Research has reported that disabled children and young people are three times more likely to experience abuse and neglect than typically developing children, and that is just based on reported events. Clearly there are specific risks to disabled children and additional skills are required to ensure their welfare in the home, in care and residential placements. This course will offer the opportunity for discussion and debate in this most complex and challenging areas of safeguarding. |
